BIOGRAPHY
Valentina Cotrone is a young Italian "lirico-spinto" soprano from Mantova, Italy.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
In 2016 she graduated with the highest marks at the “A.Boito Conservatory of Music” in Parma, Italy.
In 2015 and 2017, she participated in the “Corso D’Opera APS” project for young singers in Tuscany, Italy. She performed in many concerts and had the opportunity to study under the guidance of some of the leading voices in the opera world (Luciana D'Intino, Lucio Gallo, Mirella Parutto, Michele Pertusi, Roberto Scandiuzzi and Dolora Zajick).
From 2016 to 2018, she developed her dramatic voice with Dolora Zajick in Reno, Nevada (USA) during the program “Institute for Young Dramatic Voices”. During those stays in the US, she performed in numerous events and concerts as a young dramatic emerging artist.
In 2019, she deepened her studies and enriched her repertoire with M.o Lucio Gallo, baritone, during masterclasses in Palermo;
Since 2019 she has been studying with M.o Juliette Bisazza Zanni, soprano, in Malta.
RECENT EXPERIENCES
In November 2019 performed as soloist during Gala Concert “Elisabetta di Ruberto” in XXVI concert season “Fatti ad Arte”, ‘Musicalis Daunia’ in Lucera, Foggia, Italy.
In December 2019 reached the final in "Pellizzoni International Competition" in Sissa (Parma, Italy) and performed in the Gala Concert.
In January 2020 Valentina won the Competition for roles of “Voce all’Opera” in Milan and thanks to that in 2022 she will be “Gran Sacerdotessa” in Verdi’s Aida.
In July 2020 she was the soloist of "OPERA GALA CONCERT" for 'Festivals Malta' in Pjazza Regina, Valletta, Malta.
In August 2020 she sang in occasion of an important celebration of "Virgin Mary Lady of Grace" in Ss. Santuario delle Grazie, Mantova, in live streaming worldwide on Vatican TV2000.
In December 2020 and January 2021 she collaborated with Teatro Verdi (Buscoldo Mantova) performing in three concerts for Soprano and Orchestra directed by M.o Daniele Anselmi: "Concerto per l'Immacolata Concezione"; "Christmas Concert 2020"; "Epiphany 2021 Live Concert".
In February 2021 she sang in the concert with orchestra: "Canto d'Amore" in Teatro Verdi, Buscoldo, MN. Realized in streaming for the twinning with Uruguay, it was transmitted in broadcast on giant screens in the squares of the city of Paysandù.
In June 2021 she sang as soloist in La Roche-En-Ardenne, Belgium, with “Orchestra du chambre du Luxembourg.
In September 2021 she was soloist voice in the concert: “TRIBUTE TO MORRICONE”, with Teatro Verdi's Orchestra and "Opera House choir", in Corte Spagnola, Curtatone, in Mantova, Italy.
In September 2021 she sang in her opera-chamber music SOLO RECITAL, in “Sala Boccadoro” in Montagnola, Lugano, Switzerland, for the 2021 Music Festival organized by the “Boccadoro Foundation”;
In April 2022 she made her role debut as "SUOR ANGELICA", in the opera production of Puccini's homonymous opera in “Teatro Verdi”, Buscoldo, Mantova.
